An all-in-one health benefits solution in South Florida

Cigna SureFit® - South Florida is a local health care solution designed to make health care more personal and more affordable. It was built specifically for South Florida and the people who live here.

Integrated benefits with value built in
Cigna SureFit® health plans combine medical, pharmacy and behavioral health benefits with enhanced care management. Engineered to work better together, Cigna SureFit addresses the whole health of employees, including high-cost, co-occurring conditions. The integration of benefits streamlines administration and offers more opportunity for holistic employee engagement.

Smart decisions, made simple

Cigna SureFit includes Cigna One Guide® service with sophisticated, in-the-moment data to influence smart choices. With a holistic view of health information, personal guides can help employees with anything from choosing a plan and finding care, to saving money and getting the most from their benefits.

High-value network in South Florida

The Cigna SureFit network is built around a concentration of local, value-based providers committed to delivering quality care at a lower cost. Rewarded for quality rather than quantity, network providers continuously work to improve value. They collaborate and share data with hospitals and specialists to deliver efficient, whole-health care as a team. This helps drive network efficiencies, leading to potentially significant client savings over our Open Access Plus solution.*

Cigna resources in response to Hurricane Irma

The safety and well-being of everyone we serve – and the communities we serve – is our highest priority. We hope and pray that you and your families remain safe during Hurricane Irma.

Customer Protection Actions
To ensure that Cigna customers in Florida have access to the medications and care they need, during the storm and after, Cigna has taken these actions, regardless of plan type:

  • Lifted prescription refill restrictions (“too soon to refill”)
  • Removed the requirement that customers use Cigna's mail order pharmacy for their prescription medications (Cigna is also encouraging customers to use the retail pharmacy that is most convenient for them)
  • Contacted affected customers who use Cigna's Specialty Pharmacy services to help them make alternate arrangements
  • Waived prior authorization requirements for acute medical care and behavioral health care
  • Authorizing non-emergency out-of-network (OON) services (inpatient or outpatient) at an in-network level when in-network services are not available because of disruption caused by the hurricane
  • Forgiving late payment of premiums – no coverage will be canceled due to late payment
  • For group disability insurance customers, Cigna will extend, as necessary, any claim filing deadlines for providers, insureds, certificate holders or enrollee

Reminder: Emergency and urgent outpatient care is covered at an in-network level, regardless of site, as it always is.

Telehealth Services
We realize that health care providers in the path of the hurricane have also been disrupted. We remind you that Cigna customers have access to telehealth services provided by MDLIVE and Amwell.

Customers can access telehealth services during this crisis using their smartphone by calling toll-free 24x7x365: MDLIVE 888.726.3171; Amwell: 855.667.9722.

Phone lines are staffed with qualified clinicians who are available to speak with people about how to cope with loss, anxiety, stress or other issues resulting from the hurricane.

  • People who do not have health benefits or employee assistance program benefits with Cigna can call a special toll-free number - 866.912.1687 - 24 hours a day through October 15.
  • who have health benefits or employee assistance program benefits with Cigna should call the telephone number on their Cigna I.D. card or 800.244.6224.
