Early 2020, Cigna rolls-out comprehensive coverage to support emotional well-being

At Cigna, we understand that physical and mental health are connected.  That's why we're committed to expanding services that meet the growing demands to support emotional well-being. In early 2020, more robust emotional well-being capabilities will be available and integrated into all of our medical plans for U500 clients.

Our emotional well-being capabilities include:

Network of behavioral health care providers and therapists

  • National network of clinicians, counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists
  • 300+ substance use Centers of Excellence locations
  • Virtual counseling sessions with over 14,000 clinicians nationwide
  • Patient support programs from mental health and substance use to routine therapy
  • No prior authorizations for routine counseling
  • Programs for eating disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, bipolar and substance use disorders
  • Live chat on myCigna.com

Self-service digital tools and resources

  • Interactive video lessons, support communities and one-on-one coaching with a trained peer specialist to help individuals take control of depression and anxiety.
     
  • Self-directed activities, science-based games and guided meditations designed to help employees build resilience and reduce stress.

Member assistance programs - to help manage life events including:

  • Three face-to-face visits with a network of licensed mental health professionals.
  • Live chats with an Employee Assistance Program advocate.
  • Unlimited telephone counseling.
  • Access to legal services.
  • Access to financial consulting services.
